I do not usually buy yarn on impulse, however, there are times when the yarn is just calling my name. This is what happened when I saw the Sunnyside Ellen Swiss Silk in Golden Glimses colorway. I just had to have it :-)) I decided to combine this yarn with the black silk from Colourmart I already had. Both yarn are very similar in texture and thickness.
Golden specks in the yarn gave a very lovely visual pattern to the fabric, so I opted for a very simple design with just a touch of lace near neckline in front and back. I have chosen to do a folded hemline and sleeves edges for a more polished look. I am very happy with the outcome. The resulting fabric is very silky and drappy. The yarn did stretch a little more then I expected, but I do love the slight positive ease of the top.
This design is called "Stardust" and more on the project and test knitting can be found in the project's Ravely page. The pattern will be available after test knitting is completed.
