New design: "Stardust".

I do not usually buy yarn on impulse, however, there are times when the yarn is just calling my name. This is what happened when I saw the Sunnyside Ellen Swiss Silk in Golden Glimses colorway. I just had to have it :-)) I decided to combine this yarn with the black silk from Colourmart I already had. Both yarn are very similar in texture and thickness.

Golden specks in the yarn gave a very lovely visual pattern to the fabric, so I opted for a very simple design with just a touch of lace near neckline in front and back. I have chosen to do a folded hemline and sleeves edges for a more polished look. I am very happy with the outcome. The resulting fabric is very silky and drappy. The yarn did stretch a little more then I expected, but I do love the slight positive ease of the top.

This design is called "Stardust" and  more on the project and test knitting can be found in the project's Ravely page. The pattern will be available after test knitting is completed.

New design and pattern: "Dreamy Blossoms" shawl.

Thank you all for your comments in my posts. I very much appreciate your kind words :))

Today, I would like to share with you my new shawl design called "Dreamy Blossoms". I loved designing this shawl and knitting it. The pattern is fun and really easy to knit. There are only few rows every repeat where you have to pay more attention, but all other rows are easy to knit while watching some TV. It was a very fast knit, only 4 days :-) I will definitely turn to this pattern when I need to knit some gifts ;-)

I designed this shawl for the heavier weight yarns such as Colourmart silk/cotton DK. I felt that the lace stitch pattern just pops in heavier weight yarn. However, the pattern will look great in variety of yarns such as fingering or sport weight.
I love the ivory color of my shawl a lot. This shawl will go well with a lot of my summer clothes due to its neutral color, yarn content and design.

The pattern is available on Ravelry and my blog.
I have a promotion on this pattern right now.
The pattern will be sold at $3.50 (30% off its regular price) until Monday, August 19, 11pm Pacific time. After that date it will be sold at its regular price of $5.00.

Also, I have just recently started my own group “Sunny with a chance of knitting” on Ravelry. I will be happy if you can join me :)

Happy knitting,
Diana
