"Kvetka" pattern is now available.

“Kvetka” is a simple sweater with a flattering on anyone silhouette and just a touch of lace. The sweater is knitted seamless top-down and has raglan sleeve construction. Raglan seams and side seams are exposed to create fake seams. The sleeves are knitted seamless in the yoke and knitted flat and seamed after the separation for sleeves and the body. Little flower bloom stitch on the body and sleeves keeps the knitting interesting and fun and adds lovely visual interest to the sweater. Dress it up or pair it with your favorite pair of jeans for an everyday casual look.
More about this design can be found in previous post.

Kvetka pattern is now available on Ravelry and my blog.

I am running a promotion on my patterns right now.
When you purchase any 2 patterns in my Ravelry store (including e-books), you will receive a 25% off your total purchase. No coupon needed.
The promotion will run until Monday, September 9, 11pm Pacific time.

New design: Kvetka.

Today I would like to share my new design "Kvetka".
Kvetka means flower in Belorussian.

I love how this sweater turned out. It was fun to design it and to knit. The stitch pattern looks like little cables, but it is not cables at all, but a lace stitich that looks like little flowers. Very addictive lace stitch that keeps the project interesting throughout.
The sweater knitted seamless topdown and has raglan sleeves. Sleeves and body knitted seamless in the raglan area, but after separation for body and sleeves, body is knitted seamless and sleeves are knitted flat and later sewn. The sweater also has fake side and raglan seams.

For this project I combined two different yarns. I have used 1 strand of SIŪLAS Lithuanian Linen and 2 strands of ColourMart 100% Extra Fine Merino 2/30NM Laceweight.
I love the resulting ink color which resulted from combining two different shades of purple/blue yarns.

My project can be found on Ravelry here.
Pattern will be available after test knitting is completed early September.

Linen Dress.

I have teased you with some pictures of my linen dress in the last post and finally the dress is finished and I can show it to you :)) Beautiful linen for this dress was gifted to me by Anna. All edges of this dress are beaded. The beads were attached by the hook. This is my first knitted dress and first time working with linen. I loved the yarn and will definitely work with linen again. It is perfect for summer and very nice to knit with. Not all stitch patterns that I have considered for this dress looked great in linen and it took some searching and sample knitting to find the pattern I liked. In the end I have chosen Estonian lace pattern called "Half Leaf Pattern" from the "The Haapsalu shawl" book.  If I would knit this dress again I would maybe do sides of the dress (this is where increases were done) a little different, but overall I am very happy with the way my dress has turned out.

Yarn:  SIŪLAS Lithuanian Linen 4ply  (2.29 skeins = 1259.5 yards (1151.7m))
Needles: US 2 - 2.75 mm
Design: my own
Construction: seamless topdown
Beads:  Miyuki 8/0 color #4217DC, about 1000.

A Gift and WIP :-))

Last night I came home and found a package from Anna Kuduja (Ravelry, blog) in my mailbox :-)))) In the package was this beautiful Lithuanian Linen SIŪLAS of simply amazing color. The color is even more stunning in real life, then in  photographs. Thank you Anna, I am in love with this yarn and cannot wait to knit with it :-)))

Also, Anna send me 4 issues of Estonian knitting magazine Käsitöö. What a beautiful journal :-)) Anna's designs are often published in Käsitöö and I enjoyed looking at photographs of projects seen before on her blog and Ravelry pages and now in a new light on the pages of
Käsitöö.

I especially love this particular design by Anna (project on Ravelry)  and planning to knit this top for myself when the weather gets colder around here ;-)

Now, to my current WIP. I have started this simple classic cardigan in 2ply lace yarn. The cardigan is seamless and knitted from the top. I am alternating two yarns. Yellow yarn is

The pattern I use as a base for this cardigan is from Knitty, Spring + Summer 2011 issue and is called "Amiga" . My project on Ravelry.

However, I will have to put my "Amiga" cardi on hold in few days, because then I will receive the yarn to start a test knit for Joji. I am very exited to be  test knitting her new design called "Emma" :-))

Easy Breezy :-))

This was a very easy project. Hence, the name 'Easy Breezy" :-)) The top took much less time to knit, then it took me to find the lace pattern ;-)) The top is knitted seamless from the top. The yarn is OK and I like how it looks and feels after blocking. However, I would like to repeat this top in cotton or linen yarn and maybe write a pattern, if there is an interest in this project.
Overall, I really like this summer top. I did not expect much from this yarn..just was trying to use yarn from the stash..but it came out very wearable, I think :-))
Project can be found on Ravelry
