Blue Donner.

Took me 4 month, but I did finish this beautiful sweater by  Elizabeth Doherty @bluebeestudio I absolutely love it. 💜💜💜 The fit is fantastic.  I wanted to try some new and interesting construction. and Donner fit the bill. I love the shoulder construction of this sweater, especially the braid on the back. For my mods on how I picked up sts for the braid see the project page:

I cannot say enough good things about this pattern. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design and calculations. I highly recommend this pattern, but be aware that it is very very heavy on short rows. I am not a big fan of short rows, but they do make your final garment to fit well and thus worth the straggle even if take four month to make. :-)
The yarn is light fingering  cashmere from Colourmart @colourmart. After wash it bloomed and absolutely scrumptious.
Happy knitting,
Diana

"Kvetka" pattern is now available.

“Kvetka” is a simple sweater with a flattering on anyone silhouette and just a touch of lace. The sweater is knitted seamless top-down and has raglan sleeve construction. Raglan seams and side seams are exposed to create fake seams. The sleeves are knitted seamless in the yoke and knitted flat and seamed after the separation for sleeves and the body. Little flower bloom stitch on the body and sleeves keeps the knitting interesting and fun and adds lovely visual interest to the sweater. Dress it up or pair it with your favorite pair of jeans for an everyday casual look.
More about this design can be found in previous post.

Kvetka pattern is now available on Ravelry and my blog.

I am running a promotion on my patterns right now.

The promotion will run until Monday, September 9, 11pm Pacific time.

New design: Kvetka.

Today I would like to share my new design "Kvetka".
Kvetka means flower in Belorussian.

I love how this sweater turned out. It was fun to design it and to knit. The stitch pattern looks like little cables, but it is not cables at all, but a lace stitich that looks like little flowers. Very addictive lace stitch that keeps the project interesting throughout.
The sweater knitted seamless topdown and has raglan sleeves. Sleeves and body knitted seamless in the raglan area, but after separation for body and sleeves, body is knitted seamless and sleeves are knitted flat and later sewn. The sweater also has fake side and raglan seams.

For this project I combined two different yarns. I have used 1 strand of SIŪLAS Lithuanian Linen and 2 strands of ColourMart 100% Extra Fine Merino 2/30NM Laceweight.
I love the resulting ink color which resulted from combining two different shades of purple/blue yarns.

My project can be found on Ravelry here.
Pattern will be available after test knitting is completed early September.

Happy knitting,
Diana

New Design :"Iva"

I would like to share my new design with you today. The story behind it that one day I was trying some new pattern and made some kind of mistake while knitting it, because the result I got was not the lace in the instructions, but rather something else. However, I loved it so much that I explored the stitch pattern a little more and came up with the lace pattern you see in my new design "Iva". The construction of the top is seamless topdown with an exception of side seams. The top features fun to knit slipped stitch lace pattern that gives a beautiful textured effect to the finished garment. The resulting lace pattern reminded me of willow branches and leaves, thus giving the pattern its name.
If you are interested in test knitting, please let me know through Ravelry mail. All information on test knitting can be found on Ravelry.

For this project I used gorgeous Alice Sock yarn from June Fibre Arts. This is the 4th yarn from Juno Fibre Arts that I have knitted with. All yarns were just wonderful. Alice Sock is no exception. I am hooked on it. It is soft, silky and warm. Such a pleasure to knit with. The color is pearly with such subtle changes in green that it does not interfere with lace, but at the same time adds a little twist to the pattern. Love it :-) It worth every penny ;-)

I love my new top..can you tell? ;-)))

Я влюблена в мой новый топ.....разве не видно ;-)))

Test knitting Ahelad.

For the last couple of weeks I have been test knitting beautiful pattern "Ahelad" by Anna Kuduja. When I saw Anna's original sweater, I knew I want one too ;-))  I am so glad I test knitted this pattern. Such a wonderful design. I enjoyed knitting this top a lot.  The pattern will be available on Ravely soon. Thank you so much Anna for the opportunity :)) I have worn the top today already ;-)) It is warm and stylish :-)
My project on Ravelry can be found here.

The yarn I used is very special too. This beautiful merino yarn was a gift from my Ravelry friend Borie. The yarn is ColourMart 100% Extra Fine Merino 10/28NM DK Weight. This yarn feels wonderful. After washing the sample bloomed and softened even more. I love the feeling of this yarn on the skin…so soft and silky. The color is just gorgeous :-))Thank you so much Borie for the gift :-))

Sending everyone warm wishes for the holidays and some California sunshine :-))

 Happy knitting,
Diana
