Bordertown.

Bordertown is my new design colaboration with Sunshine yarns. The pattern and yarn kit from Sunshine yarns will be available on Sunshine yarns website on Sunday at 6pm MST. The pattern will be exclusive to the Sunshine yarns until the end of August. After that time Bordertown shawl pattern will be available on Ravelry.  You can now follow me on Facebook for any new pattern announcements and other news.

It has been a pleasure knitting with Sunshine Yarns UltraLuxe Light and designing a shawl for this yarn. This was my first time knitting with UltraLuxe and I love it. The yarn is buttery soft and silky. The drape is superb. The shawl really bloomed after blocking and the drape is fantastic. You can really feel the silk and cashmere in this yarn. The color is gorgeous. Just the right shade of yellow.
I just posted the shawl on Ravelry as my project. You can see more details of Bordertown shawl on my project page.

Some info on the shawl:
Finished size:
After blocking, the sample shawl measures 168 cm (66 inches) long along the top edge and 82 cm (32 inches) deep.
Yarn 1 skein of UltraLuxe Light by Sunshine Yarns, Fingering / 4 ply (75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk) 420 yards / 100 grams in colorway Golden Leaves.
Shawl Construction
The shawl is knitted sideways. One side of the picot/cable border and the top edge are knitted simultaneously with the body of the shawl. The other half of the border is knitted along the bind off edge at the same time as bind off is done. Border section will use about 12-14% of the total yarn used and if you have the scale, you can use your skein to the last inch. This information is included in the pattern as well as to how many sts you need to knit for a 100g skein.

Happy knitting,
Diana
