I am trilled to finally be able to reveal to you my new collection of knitted accessories made in collaboration with Baah Yarn. The collection is called "Sunshine Daisy" and features two shawls and a cowl.
I started working on this collection in January 2015 when I got an opportunity to create 3 designs for Baah Yarn. The yarns I used in the designs are Platinum (Fingering
/ 4 ply 75% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 5% Metallic) and Aspen (Sport
/ 5 ply 75% Merino, 15% Silk, 10% Cashmere). The yarns and the colors inspired the designs you see today. My goal and desire for this collection was to create beautiful knits that play with lace, color and texture. I wanted the designs to be fun and engaging to knit and also to become light, airy, and comfortable accessories one would love to wear. I hope you will enjoy this collection.
The 1st designs in this collection is Sunshine Daisy shawl.
The pattern on Ravelry is here.
This shawl has top-down construction, half-circle shape and uses fun to knit flower stitch. The shawl's size is very easy to customize. The
shawl features
striking contrasts in texture and colors. The sample was knitted in two colors, but the possibilities of colors are endless and more than 2 colors can be used.
For my sample I used Platinum
by Baah!:
2
skeins of color 1 (colorway Fog)1 skein of color 2 (colorway Lemonade)
The 2nd design in this collection is Muscari shawl.
The pattern on Ravelry is here.
Muscari
is a
lacy and airy
shawl, knitted sideways seamlessly in a fun
to knit broomstick pattern.
This
shawl is a great beginner project and a nice relaxing project for the
experienced knitters. It
only takes one skein to knit this shawl, which makes for a fast
project.
For my sample I used 1
skein of Aspen by Baah! in colorway Misty.
Last, but not least, is Byzantine Gold cowl.
The pattern on Ravelry is here.
Byzantine
Gold is
lacy and airy cowl, knitted
in a simple rhombus
motif.
It is knitted flat and the
edges are later joined by Kitchener stitch. This is fast
and easy project. The cowl
can be worn in the full
width or folded in half lengthwise, which makes it reversible.
For my sample I used 2
skeins of
Platinum
by Baah! in colorway Byzantine Gold.
There are more pictures of these designs and information on Ravelry. I also will be posting more about each individual design in the coming days.
I am hosting a knit-a-long for the Sunshine Daisy Collection in Sunny with a Chance of Knitting group. I
hope you will join us :-) The KAL will run until July 4th. The thread
