"Bubblemania" pattern is now featured on Malabrigo website :-)

Thank you all for the wonderful response to my "Bubblemania" scarf pattern. As of now, the pattern has been downloaded 1800 times since it has been released on Ravelry  on November 11 :-)

I also have very exiting news to share, that "Bubblemania", which was knitted with Malabrigo Lace yarn, was chosen to be featured on Malabrigo Yarn website.  You can find it here. This is my second pattern that has been featured on Malabrigo website. The other one is "Fly me to the Moon" shawl.

New shawl design: "Woven".

I have bought these two colors ( Tern and Fragrant colorways) of Madelinetosh merino light a while back and meant to use them together. I tried different patterns and ideas over the last year, but finally decided on something very simple. I love the woven effect the slipped stitch pattern gives. The shawl looks like it have been weaved, not knitted. I considered a lacy border for the shawl, but decided on simple striped one.

The shawl came out an average size, but took quite a bit of yarn. I love the result and feel this one going to get a lot of wear this Fall and Winter :-)
A pattern for “Woven” will be available after Thanksgiving :-) In mean time "Woven" can be found on Ravelry here.

New free pattern: Bubblemania

“Bubblemania”  is a scarf knitted in a simple slipped stitch pattern. This was fun and easy project. I am so in love with this stitch pattern. The scarf just flew off the needles. The pattern is highly addictive.

I made this scarf for my daughter. She loves it, but I love hot pink too ;-)) I might have to borrow it from her sometimes if she lets me ;-)) We had so much fun taking pictures the other day and I had hard time narrowing them down to a reasonable number to show you ;-)

The scarf takes just one ball of 2ply lace yarn. I used 1 skein= 470.0 yards (429.8m) of Malabrigo Yarn Lace  (100% Merino) in Colorway 21 (Pink). The scarf can also be knitted in a heavier weight yarn.  The scarf also can be easily turned into a cowl if desired.

My project on Ravelry can be found here.
Free pattern for "Bubblemania" is available on Ravelry and my bog. Enjoy!

New free pattern: "Sweet October".

As you found out from my previous post I did a little traveling to Minsk, Belarus to see some of my oldest and dearest friends and to  meet some new ones too ;-))  For my trip I really wanted a new shawl, scarf or a cowl. I have decided to knit a cowl from some left over Louet Fingering Gems that I had. This is my favorite 4ply merino yarn. I have knitted many projects from it and there are will be many more. It is sturdy, soft, holds well lace. It is does not stretch at all and does not pill. It is a pleasure to knit with and to wear.

This was a very easy and enjoyable project to knit. The cowl got a lot of wear when I was in Minsk few weeks ago. I found it much more comfortable to wear over coat then any shawls or scarfs. It kept me very warm :-)) It is even came very useful when picking up apples at my friend’s yard during my visit ;-))

The pattern is called "Sweet October". It is available as a free download on Ravelry or my blog.  It is very simple slipped stitch pattern, but maybe someone will find it useful. A cowl like that is a great way to use up leftover yarn :-) The cowl is very wide. I am wearing it folded in half lengthwise in the pictures.
My project on Ravelry can be found here.
